Terms of Service

Effective October 3, 2026. Operated by Coastal Technology Group LLC.

Aisle Scout is an early test version. Accounts are by application, the AI can be wrong, and prices are estimates. You keep ownership of what you add, and you can delete your account at any time.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Coastal Technology Group LLC (“we”, “us”), which runs Aisle Scout on the web at aisle-scout.com and in the Aisle Scout iPhone app (together, the “service”). By applying for or using an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Who can use Aisle Scout

You must be at least 18 years old. You may hold one account, for your own use, and you must give us your real name and an email address you control. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity on your account.

3. Applications and approval

Aisle Scout is in testing, and we open it to a limited number of people. After you apply and confirm your email, we review your application. We may approve or decline any application, limit how many accounts are active, and keep an application waiting while places are full. Approval does not promise access for any length of time.

We may suspend or close an account at any time, including when we believe these terms were broken, to protect other people or the service, or when we end the testing program. Where it is practical, we will tell you by email.

4. A service in testing

Features change, move or disappear while we learn what works, and the service may have bugs or be unavailable at times. Please tell us when something goes wrong; it helps.

5. AI features

Meal ideas, recipes, pantry photo scans, recipe imports and help answers are produced with artificial intelligence. They can be wrong or incomplete: a scan can misread an item, a recipe can leave out a step, and a suggestion may not suit your needs.

  • Check before you cook or eat. Always read ingredient labels yourself for allergens and dietary needs, and follow safe food handling and cooking temperatures.
  • Aisle Scout does not give medical, nutritional or dietary advice. If you have a health condition, allergy or special diet, talk to a qualified professional.
  • What you type into AI features and the answers you receive are stored and may be read by us to fix problems and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Don't enter information you don't want stored, such as health details or other people's private information.

6. Prices and store information

Prices, sales and store details come from stores, public sources and third parties, and they change often. They are estimates to help you plan. They are not offers, and the price at the register may differ. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the stores shown.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add, such as pantry items, lists, meal plans, recipes, photos, receipts and messages (“your content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, copy, process and display your content only to run, secure and improve the service for you, including sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain for a short time in backups.

Only add content you have the right to use. If you import a recipe from a website, the recipe and any photos copied with it remain subject to that site's rights, and they are saved privately for your personal use.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or use the service to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • access another person's account or data, or share your account;
  • scrape, overload, probe or interfere with the service, or get around its limits or security;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
  • try to make the AI features produce harmful, illegal or misleading content, or upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything, and without naming you unless you agree.

10. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app or website, or by emailing us. Deletion removes your account and the content tied to it as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 5 through 7 and 11 through 14 continue to apply after an account closes.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be accurate, uninterrupted or error free, or fit for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Coastal Technology Group LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is material, we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you use the service. The date at the top shows when this version took effect.
